“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”
Peace is a state of being and that being is you. It’s not someone else and it’s not something outside of us that you think you might need to find. Peace comes from within and is something we can find by looking within.
Sometimes the world seems like it’s overflowing with bad news or our lives are too busy, making it difficult to find that peace. Things out of our control are not worth worrying about. Instead spend that time focused on you, the things you like, the people you love. You’ll be surprised how easily peace presents itself. It’s been there all along!
Gautama Buddha, born Siddhartha Gautama around the 5th century BCE in Lumbini, present-day Nepal, was an enlightened spiritual teacher and the founder of Buddhism. After a life of privilege and seclusion, he renounced his worldly possessions and embarked on a spiritual quest for truth and liberation from suffering. Through deep meditation and self-reflection, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, becoming the Buddha, or the awakened one. His teachings, known as the Dharma, emphasize the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, offering guidance on how to transcend suffering and attain inner peace. Gautama Buddha’s profound wisdom and compassionate teachings have had a profound impact on millions, making him one of the most revered spiritual leaders in history.
